Leadership Alabama

We are thrilled to welcome another outstanding group of state leaders who will be participating in LA Class XXXVI when it launches on Wednesday, October 14, in Montgomery!

The 72 members will gather in our state’s capital and hear from excellent speakers, most of whom are LA members, at storied venues, which will offer an historic and meaningful history of Alabama, as well as an introduction to current issues and statewide initiatives.  The program year will continue with retreats in Mobile in January, Huntsville in March, and Birmingham in May.

As we know so well, Leadership Alabama’s mission is to challenge, motivate and engage Alabama’s proven leaders for the good of our state, and Class XXXVI, as with all previous classes, is comprised of a very diverse group of accomplished people who will continue to act, individually and in concert with one another, to move Alabama forward to help it reach its full potential.  One of the main facets of LA’s ongoing impact and effectiveness is selecting classes that are representative of a broad range of people, professions, regions and characteristics, and LA Class XXXVI personifies that objective.  It is always interesting to see the breakdown, by profession, of each class, as illustrated below, and all corners of our state, including Ashville, Bessemer, Centreville, Cullman, Evergreen, Jasper, Moulton, Rehobeth, Tuskegee, and Union Springs, are represented.

Each fall before the program year begins in October, regional events are held throughout the state to “officially” welcome everyone by gathering LA members and the upcoming class participants from their regions. These festive events will be in September and early October, so be watching for future announcements about the one scheduled for your area.  The welcome receptions are always well attended, for they are such a great opportunity for reconnecting with other members, and we certainly hope to see you when we visit your area!
